# What is Inline Edit?

An edit you make by selecting a block of code and prompting the AI directly on that selection. The AI rewrites just that selection and nothing else.

## In real work

Use inline edit: select the function, then extract the validation logic into a separate function. Leave everything else the same.

## How is this different from Googling it?

Google gives a definition. Prompthaus pairs each term with how it shows up in standups, PRs, prompts, and design reviews—then quizzes you until the word sticks. One term a day on iPhone.
