# What is Negative Prompt?

A list of things to keep out of a generation, such as text, watermarks, extra fingers or clutter, kept separate from the main prompt. Some tools have a field for it; others take exclusions in plain words.

## In real work

The cafe scenes kept coming back with made-up signs on the walls, so the art director added text, signage and logos to the negative prompt and reran the batch.
