# What is Perceived Performance?

How fast an interface feels to the user, regardless of actual load times. Good animation can make a slow operation feel faster than it really is.

## In real work

Improve perceived performance: add a skeleton screen and optimistic UI so the app feels instant. Real load time is 400ms but it should feel like 100ms.
