# What is Previs?

Short for pre-visualization: rough versions of shots made before the real shoot to test framing, timing and camera moves. Teams now often generate previs with AI video tools.

## In real work

The director cut a rough previs of the car chase from Sora clips, and it showed the crane shot was not worth a full day of the shoot budget.
