# What is Prompt?

The message you type or say to an AI tool to ask for something. Clear ones say what you want, who it is for and any details that matter, like length or reading level.

## In real work

Instead of typing 'write a flyer,' Dana's first prompt asked for a half-page flyer for Saturday's PTA bake sale, 9 to noon, friendly, with big dates.

## How is this different from Googling it?

Google gives a definition. Prompthaus pairs each term with how it shows up in standups, PRs, prompts, and design reviews. Then it quizzes you until the word sticks. One term a day on iPhone.
