# What is Synthetic Media?

Images, video, audio or text generated or substantially altered by AI, rather than shot, recorded or written by people. The umbrella covers a generated product shot, a cloned voice and a face swap alike.

## How is this different from Googling it?

Google gives a definition. Prompthaus pairs each term with how it shows up in standups, PRs, prompts, and design reviews. Then it quizzes you until the word sticks. One term a day on iPhone.
