01 · The dead ritual
Pretending AI is optional.
Standups, design critiques, and PM specs already assume people can work with agents. Interviews that ignore that hire for a job that is gone.
MissionDesigned, built and led in the United States
Helping people build skills, practice them, and create proof of what they can actually do.
USA National ResiliencyFounder letter
I've spent more than 20 years building software and education experiences at companies like Apple and General Assembly, as well as through my own startups. But when it came time for me to find my next role, I experienced the system from the other side, and I got rejected at the intro screen, rejected after technical assignments, and even found myself having to prove my value months into roles. I realized the process was broken in ways I hadn't fully understood, especially as AI now writes resumes and helps companies qualify them.
So I went on a discovery mission. A Motor Valley professor shared the challenge of evaluating junior engineers who lacked the confidence and evidence to demonstrate what they knew. An IL high school CTE teacher described the challenge of preparing students for careers that are changing faster than education can keep up. A startup CEO shared how difficult it was for interns to absorb the organization's tribal knowledge during weekly standups. Different people, different stages of life, the same underlying challenge: people are constantly learning, but struggle to turn that learning into confidence, capability, and proof.
PromptHaus is my attempt to solve that grand challenge. It will evolve, and some things won't work. But I believe I'm meant to tackle this mission: helping people build skills, practice them, and create proof of what they can actually do. If you're thinking about this problem too, I'd love to hear from you (opens in a new tab) and learn how you'd like to help.
What we're building
01 · The dead ritual
Standups, design critiques, and PM specs already assume people can work with agents. Interviews that ignore that hire for a job that is gone.
02 · The new job
The signal is whether someone can name the work, review what an agent drafted, and push back when it looks right but will not hold. That is the same job for engineers, PMs, and designers.
03 · The proof
An eight-week sprint builds quiz-backed Skills Wallets on device. Recruiters can search them. Prompthaus does not run the interview or pick who gets the offer.
Why it matters
Two hundred fifty years in, the United States still generates more than a quarter of global economic output with four percent of the world's population, and eleven of the fifteen trillion-dollar companies are American (Franz et al., 2026). In July 2026, the Department of War launched Build Freedom to close a skilled-trades gap projected at 2.1 million unfilled manufacturing jobs by 2030 (Department of War, 2026; Evans, 2025). The industrial base now organizes around four competencies: capacity, responsiveness, flexibility, and resilience (Wasser & Sheers, 2025), with federal policy aligned on strengthening that base (Council of Economic Advisers, 2026).
PromptHaus is designed, built, and led from the United States. We curate the vocabulary those builders need: NIMS credentials, GD&T callouts, ITAR boundaries, MES screens, foundation model workflows. One term a day. Measurable proof. American IP, exported to builders everywhere.
Curriculum
Our Manufacturing pack covers 28 terms for CNC, shipbuilding, GD&T, ITAR, and shop-floor systems, mapped to the Defense Manufacturing Technician pathway. AI Tools, Energy, and Finance packs cover the vocabulary of the knowledge workforce that runs beside the factory floor. Schools and CTE programs can assign these packs in Apple Schoolwork.
